University of Southern California
Founded in 1880, the University of Southern California is a private research university in Los Angeles, California. The school comprises 22 undergraduate, graduate, and professional schools that enroll roughly 21,000 undergraduate and 28,500 post-graduate students from all 50 U.S. states and more than 115 countries.
The USC Medical Center is a 600-bed public teaching hospital. USC Medical is one of the largest public hospitals and medical training centers in the United States, and the largest single provider of healthcare in Los Angeles County. It provides healthcare services for the region’s medically underserved, is a Level I trauma center, and treats over 28 percent of the region’s trauma victims.
The Keck School of Medicine at USC is the second oldest medical school in California and has been consistently rated as one of the best schools for training physicians, biomedical scientists, and other healthcare professionals. Keck is also responsible for conducting leading clinical trials across as broad spectrum of investigation.

As the technology licensing office for the University of Southern California, the Stevens Center for Innovation (SCI) plays a key role in Southern California’s innovation ecosystem. SCI licenses USC discoveries to existing businesses or startup companies to develop them into products and services that improve human lives, solve problems, and fuel economic growth.
SCI’s mission is to maximize the translation of USC research into products for public benefit through licenses, collaborations, and the promotion of entrepreneurship and innovation. Through licensing discoveries, promoting entrepreneurship, and stimulating innovation, SCI is helping to create a better future.
SCI serves as a university-wide resource that works to move the discoveries of USC researchers from the lab to the marketplace. It manages a broad portfolio of university-owned intellectual property stemming from more than $955 million in annual research expenditures.
The patents NeOnc has secured under an exclusive global licensing agreement with USC represent the university’s largest IP license of biotech-related patents for the development and commercialization of chemotherapies related to brain and CNS diseases.
