Marc C. Chamberlain, MD

Marc C. Chamberlain is a Professor of Neurology and Neurological Surgery as well as the Chief of the Division of Neuro-Oncology at the University of Washington Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance in Seattle, Washington. He is a world-renowned neuro-oncologist who is known for his work on leptomeningeal carcinomatosis. Many of the methods used today in evaluating and managing neoplastic meningitis were developed by Marc.

Marc’s clinical and research interests are in the area of primary brain tumors, with a focus on clinical trials. His research expertise are in the fields of Internal medicine, Surgery, Chemotherapy, Oncology and Radiation therapy.  His study focuses on the intersection of Chemotherapy and fields such as Pathology with connections in the field of Meningitis, Oligodendroglial Tumor and Neurology. The Oncology study combines topics in areas such as Brain tumor, Breast cancer, Glioblastoma and Clinical endpoint.

 He has published his work in over 225 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals. His work is often cited with his key papers like “Updated Response Assessment Criteria for High-Grade Gliomas” being cited over 2000 times.

Marc received his medical degree from the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University’s Vagelos College of Physicians. He did his residency training in pediatrics at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx, New York, and at Harbor UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, California. He completed fellowships in pediatric neurology at the University of California, Los Angeles, and in neurological surgery at the University of California, San Diego. He is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Pediatrics.
